Cons:
  • Limited number of colors
Final Verdict: ♥ ♥ ♥
Like their concealer I also love this blush. I wanted some blush that wouldn't melt in the summer heat. Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush lives up to it's claim. It does feel so soft on your skin when you apply it and it does last. You get a very natural flush/ glow and it's also very build-able. I also like to use this as a base for powder blush. But you can't put on any powder before apply this blush or it will cake up. Powder after, Yes. Powder before, NO.
I like to apply this blush with my fingers. It's seems easier that way then using a brush because of it's consistency. It does feel like NARS the Multiple but because this is a mousse and and not solid, the Dream Mousse feels softer. Overall, Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush is a great deal for it's price and performance. I totally recommended it.

Final Verdict: ♥ ♥ ♥
I like this product. It works well to conceal the dark circles under my eyes as well as the redness on the sides of my nose. It's very light and applies smoothly. Because of it's light texture I like to apply this product with my fingers rather than a brush. It's only down fall is that it might have a tendency to settle into fine lines. I don't have any lines right now but for those who do this might not be the best product.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick

I'm not sure when Maybelline first introduced there Color Sensational line but I feel like recently I've been seeing the commercials more on TV recently. Maybe because I've started watching more TV? Anyways, I finally gave in and decided to get some to try. They were $7.99 at Walgreens but I bought it when it was Buy 1 Get 1 50%.
The lipsticks come in 4 groups: Red, Neutral, Pink, & Plum. The lipsticks tube is a color tinted plastic that is also coordinated according to the grouping, i.e. if you buy a lipstick in the red family the tube will be red. There is something about the packaging that I don't like. I can't quite really figure out what exactly.
I do love this lipstick. It has great consistence, pigmented, smooth and it doesn't dry out my lips. The colors in the collection range from soft to bold and anyone can find the right shade for them. Maybelline's site has a shade finder if you need help finding the right shades for your skintone.

Final Verdict
Pro: Smooth, Pigmented without Drying
Con: None

Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner

Maybelline's Lasting Drama Gel Liner is an oil free formula with a highly concentrated pigment in a gel base. It claims to be smudge proof and water proof. They come in 4 colors; black, grey, brown, and plum. Each little jar is 0.106 oz and has an applicator brush to go with it. You can buy this product in any drugstore for around $9-10. I bought black & plum when it was buy one get one 50% off at Rite Aide.
Using the brush, I applied the gel liner in small strokes across my lash line. I start in the middle going to the outer corner of my eye, then from the middle going towards the inner corner. I do the same thing to my lower lash line but I start from the outer corner moving in.
This was really easy to use. The liner does dry quickly. I wish it didn't dry as quickly but it's really not a bad thing. This lasted a whole day with me (9 hrs) without any flaking, smudging, smearing, or anything. When removing the liner, it won't come off with water but easily comes off with makeup remover. I like gel liners because it has the feel & look of a liquid liner with the control of a pencil liner. I really like this product and I wish Maybelline would expand the number of colors.

Final Verdict

Pro: It is what it claims to be: long lasting, smudge proof, & water proof.
Con: None

Maybelline Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow

I recently bought Maybelline's Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow. This eyeshadow quad claims to have a "rich color. smooth feel." You can buy this in any drugstore for around $10. I bought it when it was buy one get one at Walgreens. The colors I bought was in Give me Gold and Taupe Temptress but there are 12 shades all together. The quad comes in a small rectangular case and with a two ended sponge tip applicator. I find the case feels a bit flimsy and that sometime it's a little hard to open. Just looking at the colors, they seem vibrant and has specks of glitter. The shadows are very soft because a brush easily picks up the colors. When it comes to application I find that the 2 lighter shades aren't as vibrant on my skin but the 2 darker colors do show up more. I found that when I tried to blend the colors that it would come off. I had to reapply and pack on the eye shadows in order to get the color consistency I wanted on my lids. There's also some fall out with the glitter.
I had high hopes for this product but it's just okay to me. I don't think it's worth $10 but if I had to buy it I'd wait for a sale.

Application According to Maybelline

SUBTLE CHIC LOOK
Illuminate– sweep lightest shade all over eye using wider side of applicator, from lash line to brow bone.
Blend – apply second shade across full lid; using tapered end of brush, add shade to lower lash line for depth.
Emphasize – sweep third shade from inner corner to middle of lid.
Contour – line darkest shade on upper lash line with tapered end of brush for added intensity.

HIGH IMPACT LOOK
Illuminate – sweep lightest shade all over eye using wider side of applicator, from lash line to brow bone.
Emphasize – blend second shade from inner corner to middle of lid.
Intensify – apply third shade from outer corner to middle of lid; line upper and lower lash for extra pop.
Deepen – add darkest shade in crease and line upper and lower lash line for more impact.

Final Verdict
Pro: A brush can pick up the color easily and some of the colors do look nice.
Con: There is glitter fallout & the colors blend of easily that you have to pack on the color.
Buy Again: Maybe

NYX vs Maybelline Shadow/Liner Pencils

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil is my favorite eyeshadow/liner pencil to use. The color glides on your eyes easily without tugging on your lids. They come in over a dozen colors and is inexpensive at only $3/ $3.50 at a store. The colors are pigmented and last through out the day. These pencils can be used alone as an eyeshadow or liner as well as a base for your make up.

Maybelline Cool Effect Shadow/ Liner were the first pencil of this time that I used. You can get them at a drugstore for around $5- $6 a pencil. I didn't think that this pencil applied as smoothly as the NYX pencil. I would have to warm up the tip before I applied. The colors came up soft when I applied unless you're using one of the darker shades. They come in over a dozen colors and have a slight shimmer. Though both Maybelline & NYX pencils have close to the same amount of different shades, the NXY pencils have a wider variety of colors. I would use this pencil also as a shadow, liner, or base.

Pro: Shimmery

Liquid Liner

I don't have the steadiest of hand to deal with a brush for liquid liners. That's why I like usingfelt tip applicator. Here's the two I've tried recently...

L'oreal Telescopic Precision Liquid Eye Liner

I bought this eye liner because I had the mascara and I thought I'd try the eye liner. It has a stift felt tip, giving you more control, but has an angle to it so if you have to make sure you're holding it a certain way to apply it. The angle does help to make a precise line but you just have to make sure you're holding it the right way. The liquid liner goes on pretty smooth but it doesn't dry right away. There had been time where I blinked before it had dried and I smudged the liner. However, once it dries it last for the whole day without melting or smudging off. The other draw back that I saw was after a couple of use the tip applicator seemed to start shedding pieces, like there was lint on it. It was a bit annoying. For the most part I did like this eye liner. I think it came in 2 or 3 colors and it cost around $8-9 at any store.

Maybelline Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner
I bought eye liner as a replacement to my L'Oreal liner.  It also has felt tip for easy application but it's not angled like the L'Oreal brand.  It simply comes to a point.  It apply smoothly onto my eye and dries fairly quickly.  It does last me all day without smudging.  It claims that it's waterproof but it's really not.  If you got water on your face or started crying, it will start to run but not heavily.  The water will simply smudge the liner.  This liquid liner is the one I used all the time.  It comes in two colors; black and brown, and cost around $6-7 at a store.

Pro: Easy to smoothly apply, last all day
Con: Not that waterproof

Setting the Foundation

These are the two foundations I have right now...

Maybelline Mineral Power Liquid Foundation
I never bought foundation from Maybelline before until I saw this one. It was something new, it said it's a mineral makeup, and contained spf 18. I thought it would be a good buy & also good for my skin. I bought it from Walmart between $7-9. It comes in a 1 fl oz. pastic tube with a tip end. I like that it has that tip end so you can control how much you want to use. It come in 2 different shade light, medium & dark with a range of color in each shade that's numbered. For example the foundation I'm using is Medium 3. The foundation provides a light to medium coverage. While I was using this product it never caused me to breakout. The foundation did seem to fade as the day went. I have combination skin so I don't know if it's because I can get oily that the foundation didn't really stay. It's a good product if you don't need full coverage.

Review
Pro: Light weight & won't clog your pores to cause breakouts
Con: Not a full coverage foundation & didn't work for my oily skin

Revlon Colorstay Foundation (Combination/Oily Skin)
After using Maybelline Mineral Power I wanted to find a full coverage foundation. I found this Revlon Foundation in Ulta for $10.50. The reason I bought this particular one was it a full coverage foundation, it contained spf 6, and they had a line formulated combination/oily skin (which is what I am) and then another for normal/dry skin. It comes in a 1 fl. oz. glass tube container in serveral shades. Revlon claims that it will give you full coverage that last for 16 hours 7 that it's transfer resistant. I'm not sure if it does last that long but for me it stayed longer then the Maybelline brand. It provides such great coverage for me that I don't even use concealer with it and it still feels light weight. This is my favorite foundation by far.

Pro: Full coverage & long lasting. It's specialize for your skin type

Glossy

These are my personal favorite lip glosses that you can ealy find at any drugstore or shopping center.

Maybelline Shine Seduction Glossy Lip Color is a smooth, shiny lip gloss. It comes in over a dozen shades and cost around $7-8. It comes as a silver tube with a twist dial bottom. You twist the bottom to push the gloss up the tube and out to the tip. Depending on the shade you chose you can have a very nice, sheer color for your lips that make them feel moist.

Pro: Sleek & Smooth

Cover Girl Wet Slick AmazeMint is super shiny, non sticky, mint scent and flavored lip gloss. CoverGirl worked with Crest to get that minty taste to it. It come in over a dozen colors for around $5-6. It is a tube that uses a wand for application. I like this lip gloss but out of the four this is the most sheer & shortest lasting. You have to constantly reapply it. They don't ever last long for me because I have to use it to much. I go through these quick.

Out of the four, Revlon ColorStay Mineral Collection is the longest wearing lip gloss. It's thick then the Maybelline & CoverGirl glosses. It cost around $7-8 and come in dozen colors. It comes in a hour glass shaped tube and uses a wand for application. It's almost a liquid lipstick because of the coverage it can give you but still gives you that shine.

Burt's Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss is a super shiny fruit flavored lip gloss. They only make 4 Colors for $7 each. It comes in a small squeeze tube. What makes this gloss different is it's natural ingredients and has citrus flavor to it. It's very smooth and gives you a sheer tinted cover. Because of the natural oils in it, it keeps your lips extra soft. It will help your lips while giving you that shine.

Quick Dry Nail Polish

These are two quick dry nail polish lines. They say they dry in a minute. I've never really timed it but they do dry pretty fast.

O.P.I has a branch of nail color line that I guess is more youth orientented call Nicole by O.P.I.  Nic's Sticks by O.P.I. is part of that line but is a quick dry nail polish.  There's only a dozen or so colors so you don't have too many options.  You can find them in most drugstore as well as Target & Walmart for around $6.99.  It comes in a tube that you pump and the color comes out at the tips where there is brush. Each tube contains 0.135 fl. oz. of polish.  Because it's such a small amount you will probably get a few uses for them. They are good for quick,  last minute nails. The stick as very easy to use and the color comes out very smoothly.  However, the brush isn't the softest so it might streak.  You have to becareful of that.  With their size and shape they are very portable.

Maybelline Express Finish is a quick dry nail polish that they say dries in 50 sec.  It comes in over 20 different colors.  It cost between $4 to $5 at most drugstore, etc.  The bottle is 0.5 fl. oz like other nail polish unlike the Nic's Stick that's in a tube.  I use about 2 layers when I use this product and allow it to dry between layers.  Once you do one hand, by the time you move to the other it's already drying.  There's no long wait.  This is a great product for those who are always on the go.  Unless, you work a lot with your hand or bit your nails the polish will last for days without chipping.
