Lancome Teint Idole Fresh Wear Foundation

Product:  Lancome Teint Idole Fresh Wear Foundation is a makeup that is suppose to provide 18 hours of shine free coverage.  It's a sheer to medium coverage foundation that come in 10 shades for light to medium skin tones.   It has a natural, almost satin, finish that keep the skin from looking  too flat.  According to Lancome this foundation is non-acnegenic, non-comedogenic, dermatologist tested, and safe on all skin types with no oils or fragrances.

Claim:  According to Lancome from the Sephora website, it claims to be a breakthrough makeup formula that provides 18-hours of shine-free wear. This fresh formula in a convenient tube delivers weightless-yet-moderate coverage that instantly minimizes the look of pores and imperfections. The complexion remains flawless and shine-free from morning until night—for a full 18 hours—even under humidity and perspiration. The exclusive shine-control technology keeps skin looking fresh and matte all day so there's no need for retouching. The formula  is non-irritating and protects skin from UV damage with SPF 15 sunscreen.

Price: $ $ $ $
I bought this foundation at Sephora.com for $32.  Though it's a bit pricey, it's actually on the lowered end for Lancome foundations and around average for high end/ department store foundations.

Packaging: ♦ ♦
The packaging for this foundation could have been better.  Lancome Teint Idole Fresh Wear Foundation comes in a 0.8 fl oz. white squeeze tube with a black screw-on cap.  Upright, it stands on it's cap.  I wish they had done the packaging differently for this product.  The actually foundation is liquidy and if I store this foundation standing, the foundation tends to run out of the tube once I open it.  I have to store this foundation upside down so I don't end up wasting product when I open it to use.

Pros: +  +  +
Light Weight
Nautral Finish
Easy to Blend
Long Lasting

Cons: -  -  -
Does Not Provide 18-hrs of Shine Free Wear
Packaging Could Be Better
Limited Shade Range

Final Verdict:  ♥ ♥ ♥
I actually bought this product in the beginning of the summer.  I needed a foundation that was light weight, shine free foundation that would last through out a summers day.  When I came across Lancome's Teint Idole, base on the discription, I thought I had found my foundation.
After using this foundation a few times ( and through out the summer), I thought this foundation was very "middle of the road".  There were things I liked about it but with an equal number of dislikes as well.  I liked that it was light weight with a natural finish.   It contains SPF 15, which was perfect for the summer.  The foundation doesn't dry very quickly, allowing me time to blend it out with ease.  I also felt that it lasted well.  It still looked good 6-8 hrs. later without looking like it was melting off me face.
With all that being said, there were things that I thought could have been better.  Even though it lasted well, it wasn't 18 hrs of flawless, shine-free coverage.  After, two hours I already started to get shiny.  That was the main reason why I bought this foundation, because it was suppose to have shine-control.  The packaging could have been better.  Though I don't mind a squeeze tube container, because this foundation is so runny, I think it would have been better to package it in a regular foundation bottle.
Now that it's winter time, I still wear this found often. My skin doesn't get as oily in the winter so it's not something I have to worry about this time.  It has worked better for me this fall/ winter since my skin is drier.  I really wanted to love this foundation but once I finish with it, I wouldn't spend another $32 to buy it again.  If this foundation wasn't Lancome and so expensive, it might have been forgivable that it didn't fully live up to it's claim.  I wouldn't recommend this for those with oily skin, but this might work better on those with a dry skin type.  If you do have oily skin this might work better during the colder months when our skin isn't as oily as it is during the summer.

Pros:
  • Great Packaging
  • Gives a Soft Focus Look to Pictures
  • Fragrance Free
  • SPF 20 (One of the highest I've seen for a foundation)
  • Long Lasting
Cons:
  • Ridiculously Glimmery/Shimmery in Sunlight
  • Emphasizes Dry Patches of Skin
Final Verdict:  ♥ ♥ ♥
It took me a long time to try Revlon PhotReady just because I had several that I hadn't finish yet.  After hearing some good reviews I couldn't help myself and bought it.
This foundation had some really good qualities about it.  Revlon hit a home run with the packaging.  I think most who wear liquid foundation wish that their foundation came with a pump.  The pump keeps things from getting messy and keeps from wasting product.  It's works smoothly so you have perfect control of how much you want to pump out.
Another great thing about this product is that it's fragrance free and has SPF 20.  If you've tried Revlon ColorStay, you know that it has a terrible smell.  Why? I don't know.  PhotoReady is not that way.  Not that anyone is going to be smelling you're face anytime soon but it's one less thing to think about.  Sometimes fragrances can cause breakouts or irritations on the skin.  The SPF 20 is one of the highest I've seen for foundation.  Sun protection is always good.
So what about the actual product?  I was a toss up for me.  It gives about a medium coverage.  I thought it was pretty long lasting (5-6 hrs) without being heavy or thick.  However, this foundation has shimmery specks mixed in it.  The good thing about it is that if gives you a soft focus/ glow to your face.  The bad thing is, it makes you look very shimmery in sunlight (via vampire from Twilight).  It was ridiculous how shimmery I looked.  Indoor in artificial or natural light it looks fine but once you step outside, you're a walking sparkle.  It's a shame because it does have SPF 20 and I don't want to go outside using this foundation.  It's called PhotoReady, so how does it look in pictures?  In pictures, indoors or out, it give a soft focus and glow effect to your face.  The shimmer isn't as obvious.  You don't look fresh faced or dewy, it's more like Photoshop and you placed the glow effect.  I didn't think that was a bad thing but other people might feel different.  I also notice that with this foundation I notice dry patches on my skin more then I do with my other foundations.
So would I buy Revlon PhotoReady again? No.  It's not a bad foundation but I wasn't wowed enough to try it again.

Pros:
  • Very smooth
  • Light on your skin
  • Medium coverage
  • Not Thick
  • Doesn't clog my pores
Cons:
  • You have to shake well
  • Can make you oily after awhile
Final Verdict: ♥ ♥ ♥
I first saw this product on tv with the Jennifer Garner commercials. It sounded really good so I decided to try it. I really really like this product. I've used MAC Fix Fluid or Revlon ColorStay and they tend to be very thick. Neutrogena's Healthy Skin is very liquidy. To apply this product, first, make sure to shake it really well. I like using a sponge with this product over a brush but if I did use a brush I'd use a MAC 187 of 188. When you apply it, it feels very light while still giving you medium coverage. What I really like about this foundation is that it looks very natural on my skin. Even people have said that I look like had a glow about me. It doesn't look like I'm wearing foundation. I don't know if it improved my skin but it works great. My only issue with it is that I have combination skin and after a while I can look really oily. I off set this by using a powder to set my makeup and using oil absorbing sheets through out the day. My only other wish for this is that I wish it came with a pump because it is so liquidy. I definitely think this product is worth a try.

Cargo OneBase

Cargo OneBase is a concealer & foundation in one. It comes in a silver squeeze tube with a wand applicator. Each tube is 0.60 oz and comes in 6 shades. OneBase isn't for all over face usage, there isn't enough product for it. It's for spot usage in key areas like under the eyes, the nose, around the mouth, and other imperfections. I found that this product feels light and blended well with my skin without looking spotty. It also contains vitamin E, avocado extract, and chamomile to help with you skin. I think it's great for a quick make up application when you don't have enough time to do a full makeup routine. And since it's small you can take it on the go. I was surprised on how much I like this product. The price is a little high at $26 for the amount of product but I think it's worth it.

Setting the Foundation

These are the two foundations I have right now...

Maybelline Mineral Power Liquid Foundation
I never bought foundation from Maybelline before until I saw this one. It was something new, it said it's a mineral makeup, and contained spf 18. I thought it would be a good buy & also good for my skin. I bought it from Walmart between $7-9. It comes in a 1 fl oz. pastic tube with a tip end. I like that it has that tip end so you can control how much you want to use. It come in 2 different shade light, medium & dark with a range of color in each shade that's numbered. For example the foundation I'm using is Medium 3. The foundation provides a light to medium coverage. While I was using this product it never caused me to breakout. The foundation did seem to fade as the day went. I have combination skin so I don't know if it's because I can get oily that the foundation didn't really stay. It's a good product if you don't need full coverage.

Pro: Light weight & won't clog your pores to cause breakouts
Con: Not a full coverage foundation & didn't work for my oily skin

Revlon Colorstay Foundation (Combination/Oily Skin)
After using Maybelline Mineral Power I wanted to find a full coverage foundation. I found this Revlon Foundation in Ulta for $10.50. The reason I bought this particular one was it a full coverage foundation, it contained spf 6, and they had a line formulated combination/oily skin (which is what I am) and then another for normal/dry skin. It comes in a 1 fl. oz. glass tube container in serveral shades. Revlon claims that it will give you full coverage that last for 16 hours 7 that it's transfer resistant. I'm not sure if it does last that long but for me it stayed longer then the Maybelline brand. It provides such great coverage for me that I don't even use concealer with it and it still feels light weight. This is my favorite foundation by far.
