Urban Decay Lip Primer

Product: Urban Decay Lip Primer
I've always been a big fan of Urban Decay. Not only are their products pretty but they're usually of great quality. I've been using their eyeshadow primer for a while now, so I was very excited to see that they came out with a lip primer. I had high expectation just from past experience with their other products.

Claim: Color is truer, applies smoother, lasts longer, and will not fade or feather. The easy-glide formula feels velvety-soft, without the drying feeling often associated with long-lasting lip color. The formula includes SPF 15 (yay!) and moisturizing Vitamins A, C and E for a primer that protects and perfects. And, Urban Decay's pretty roll-up tube and slanted bullet make for precise, easy application.

Price: $ $
I bought this at Ulta for $20

Packaging: ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
This lip primer comes in a small, purple, metallic tube with silver flowery design. You twist the tube to reveal the primer. This contains only 0.07 oz of product.

Pros:
  • Nice packaging
  • Has SPF 15 & Vitamins
  • Made my lipstick color seem truer
  • Gives the lipstick color something to hold on to
  • No Feathering
Cons:
  • Does not apply smoothly or glide on easily
  • Makes my lips feel dry
  • Pricey
Final Verdict: ♥ ♥
I'm torn about this product. I think my expectations for it were to high and it just didn't meet them. The only great thing about it was the packaging. Everything else was kind of *blah*. This primer did not glide on to my lips when I applied it. It has a consistence of thick wax. It tugged on my lips. I had to apply it a little bit at a time. I even tried to warm it up my quickly rolling the tube between my hand but it didn't help in trying to make it glide on smoother. Because it was so thick, it felt like my lips were dry. It didn't dry my lips, it just felt that way.
As far as it's claim to make your lipstick last longer, it does but not by much. My lipstick just faded at a slower pace. With legless it really didn't help at all. I will say that my lipstick or lip gloss didn't feather. I will say that the lipstick seem to be attracted to this primer. It does give a truer lipstick color because it gives it something to hold on to. Over all I wouldn't buy this product again.

Urban Decay Palettes

I've had these palettes for a while now (bought then sometime last year) but I've never talked about them. Not because I don't like them, because I do, but just because I forgot.

I bought Urban Decay Wallpaper Palette at Sephora for $36. It has 9 shadows that are either shimmery, glittery, or both. The shadows are Grind, Shotgun, Last Call, Asphyxia, Uzi, Shattered, Smog, Chopper, & Midnight Cowboy. All the shadows are pigmented but they're soft colors. They're more muted then vibrant (except Shattered). This isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you were going for a more soft, demure, or natural look this palette would be great. I use this palette for more day to day looks.
The palette is make of cardboard with a light purple and flower design on the outside. Inside there is a mirror and 2 double ended sponge tip applicators and closes magnetically.
I don't think they carry this palette anymore. I haven't seen it around. But the eyeshadows themselves they still have in other palettes or as single shades.

I bought Urban Decay Ammo Palette at Sephora for $36. It comes in a black palette with a purple gun shooting a floral design on the outside. Inside it comes with a mirror, the 10 shadows, and a double ended sponge tip applicator. The palette closes magnetically.
The 10 shadows are:
(top) Smog, Mildew, Oil Slick, Last Call, Chopper
(bottom) Maui Wowie, Shattered, Polyester Bride, Griffter, Sin
All the colors are very pigmented but half are vibrant ( Smog, Mildew, Shattered, Oil Slick, Last Call) and the rest are soft colors. Like all Urban Decay shadows, these shadows are shimmery, glittery, or both.
I also like this palette and I can use it alone without having to get other shadows. The colors can be used together for a full eye look(Lid, Crease, Highlight).

Final Verdict

Pro: Pigmented
Con: Glitter, I hate glitter in eyeshadows, too much fall out.

My favorite Eyeliners

These are my 3 favorite eyeliners. They all last for a long time, pigmented, and glides on smoothly.

Cargo Eyeliner High Pigment Pencil come in 2 color and cost $16. Of the 3 I think this one has the boldest color in black.
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner come in over a dozen colors, with the same names as some of there popular eyeshadows, and cost $17. The pencils have a bit of glitter on them and with all the colors they're good for fun, bold eyes.

Rimmel London Exaggerate Eye Definer come in 2 colors and cost $5.50. Unlike the other 2 pencils this one is automatic but it does come with it's own sharpener on the end of the pencil.

Urban Decay Delux Palette

Urban Decay has several Palettes out but their Deluxe Palette is probably my favorite.  I bought it at Sephora for $38 and comes with 9 colors, 2 applicators, and a sample of their Primer Potion.   The case is a square purple velvet case and comes with a mirror on the inside.  At $38 it is around $4 a color & if you bought it individually it would cost you around $17- $18 each.  I think it's a good deal.  The eyeshadows are highly pigmented and are all shimmery.  The colors are: Fishnet (a periwinkle color), Honey (a deep gold color), Ransom (a deep purple), Graffiti ( a bright green color), Zero (black), Peace ( an aqua blue),  Shag ( copper), Scratch ( peachy nude color), & Underground ( bronze).  If the colors seem random, I think they all go well together.  I've manage to create several different looks using this palette alone.  They are very fun and brilliant colors and if you take advange of the primer potion it makes the colors pop and last longer on your eyes.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

I always used a primer before I start putting on my make-up and for my eyes I use Urban Decay Primer Potion. It is a small (aprox. 4 inches high, 0.34 fl oz) purple tube that's genie in the bottle inspired. It comes with a wand for application and the primer is a soft nude color but goes on clear. It is simple to use. Just apply a small amount on your eyelids and a little bit under your eyes and blend in. Allow it to dry for a second then you can start applying your eye make-up. Using this primer is a good base for your eyeshadow because it will keep it from fading, creasing, or running. When I use this my eyeshadow doesn't budge and stays as brilliant all day. Eventhough it's a small tube it will last you a while because you won't need to use a lot when you apply. I bought it at Saphora for $17. For the price & quality it's a must have in any collection.
Other companies make similar products including: Stila, Smashbox, Bare Essentials, etc.

Review:
Pro: One of the least expensive eye shadow primers & works well
